What is Pilates?
Exercises designed by Joseph Pilates that uses both mental and physical techniques to condition the body.
Pilates is a series of exercises that works the deep core muscles that stabilise the body. Practices regularly will result in increased strength, better posture, improvement in the way our body moves and as a result less aches and pains.
Pilates is a great form of exercise beneficial for both men and women, from the very active sports individual to those coping with disabilities and/or diseases.
Practiced regularly it can enhance our lives. Pilates is regularly being recommended by health professionals.
The experience and knowledge that I have gained over the years, working with all age groups and levels of physical ability, I have is passed onto you through carefully planned programmes. Our Modern Pilates courses are unique in that it adopts a clinical approach to Pilates and is taught by physiotherapists and Modern Pilates Matwork practitioners like us.
Modern Pilates is a method of exercise that will condition and tone the body. Its methods are very different from many traditional types of exercise. The aim is to work muscles from the inside out, creating a stronger flatter mid section, improved posture, muscle balance, realigning the spine and improving both the function and appearance of the body.
Modern Pilates is a relaxing and we can tailor an individual programme for you which works both the body & mind. Modern Pilates is also aimed at relieving stress and can help improve sleep patterns and tension, specifically in the neck and shoulders.
